GirishGPO was founded by Girish Ray, a visionary leader, who started his career as a pharmacist, and owned and operated 6 pharmacies in Chicagoland. Then he started Dawn Pharmaceutical Distribution Company, which became national distributor of generic prescription drugs, with 6 big warehouses and offices throughout the world.

Girish learned a lot in the process including Logistics, Corporate Buying, Sales and Marketing, P&L, Corporate Accounting including Certified Accounting.

Girish has travelled extensively throughout the world, understands and respects different cultures.

Girish was awarded businessman of the year, and was runner up in The Entrepreneur of the Year award. This is a mainstream award sponsored by Merryl Lynch, GQ magazine and BOA.

Through his own experiences of business and travel, Girish believes in the unique strength of different communities.
